Hardware/Software Overview
Plans
We only use Sun Microsystems Enterprise 250 servers running Solaris 7 for all of our UNIX virtual server hosting. With over $30,000 invested into each of our Sun Enterprise servers, we have gone to great measures to ensure reliability first and foremost.
E-Mail Services
Features
Our Gold Support contracts with Sun ensure on-site support within 4 hours of reported problems, and we keep spare parts for all servers. Finally, we are running Apache 1.3.3 for HTTP service, and all SMTP servers are separated from the webservers.
UNIX Overview

UNIX varies in several factors. Though the history of UNIX is based on GNU, or free, unsupported software; free is not always good. When dealing with critical applications, free and unsupported can be a threat, rather than a benefit. The popularity of Red Hat LINUX, especially with other hosting companies is merely due to profitability, and not scalability or support. While Red Hat LINUX may be quite popular, the fact is that it is unsupported and unstable in mass virtual hosting. Sun Microsystems Solaris 7 is a true 64-bit Operating System, and is backed and supported by a Fortune 500 company. While our competition may take a cheap route through Red Hat LINUX and Intel-based hardware, we choose to take the reliable path, in the best interest of our clients.

UNIX Features

All UNIX virtual server clients enjoy between 350 to 500 Megabytes of webspace, unlimited website traffic, and a minimum of 100 POP3 e-mail accounts. FrontPage 2000, Perl, Miva, PHP3, mySQL, and Real Networks are all included for no additional charge. Below are links to specific information regarding our UNIX Standard and UNIX Developer plans.
