Website Statistics
Plans
Website statistics are one of the most important aspects of maintaining a website. Statistics provide direction for marketing, telling you how many visitors you have, where they are coming from, how long they are staying and other valuable information. Sitemall.Net provides a wide variety of website statistics.

Equipment
Website statistics are all primarily based on raw log files from the webserver. Sitemall.Net uses Apache version 1.3.3 for all UNIX virtual servers, which creates an access log and an error log for each virtual server. These logs provide the raw data for statistics programs to use and analyze. Raw logs are updated in five-minute intervals and rotated on a monthly basis. On the Windows NT platform, clients will have access to their log files as well.

HTTP-Analyze is a popular web statistics program which relies on the Apache raw log files for the data on visitor information. The program takes such information nightly and produces easy to interpret, graphical-based reports on a nightly basis for all virtual server clients.

Wusage is a configurable web statistics program which relies on the Apache raw log files for the data on visitor information. The program has several configuration options, and statistics can be optionally e-mailed to clients as well as displayed through the web.

Website Reporter is a very comprehensive web statistics package which unlike HTTP-Analyze and Wusage, does not rely on the Apache log files to track user statistics, but instead, keeps its own set of log files for each virtual server client. The program is very configurable and keeps excellent referral information.

Text-based counters are basic counters which display the number of times a particular webpage has been accessed. Graphical counters are counters with a graphical interface, allowing clients to pick and choose what digit style to use for the counter. These type of counters are more popular and can be heavily configured.
